A lot of great memories come to mind when I think of Boots. Although the most comical one would be Hay Dayz 2009 Mr Legs contest Boots got on stage in his shorts and walked the runway! He won the oldest legs award and the whitest! He and Leola were also awarded the award for longest married couple that year too! My kids will always remember all the lunches they got to eat with Boots and Leola at the Cincy Store, Maddi looked forward to going to the store and eating lunch with them! We love you Boots and will miss you dearly! Posted by angela beals - cincinnati, IA - close friends May 17, 2011
Uncle Boots will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. I have many fond memories of all the times I visited him and Aunt Odie as a child. He will forever be in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Odie. Thank You for all the wonderful memories. Love, Michelle Posted by Michelle Burgess (Farnsworth) - Rock Island, IL - Great Niece May 19, 2011
Uncle Boots was such a very kind, loving, special man and together with Aunt Odie you couldn't have found two more wonderful people. Every time my family would go to Cincy to visit our Grandparents, us kids would be so excited to go visit Uncle Boots and Aunt Odie. We were always welcomed into their home and could do anything we wanted and they never seemed to mind how much of a mess we would make. Uncle Boots, you are truly a one of a kind man and I will miss you forever. Love always and forever. Posted by Kimberly Trickey - Colona, IL - Great Niece May 19, 2011
Have alot of fond memories of my special Uncle Boots. You could not ask for a better Aunt and Uncle. I remember Uncle Boots running the sinclair station in Cincinnati and Aunt Odie selling popcorn out front of the station. That was the good old days. Uncle Boots is going to be missed by everyone who ever knew him. Mu children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all adored him. You wil be sadly missed Uncle Boots. I love you. I HAVE ALOT OF MEMORIES OF UNCLE BOOTS. ONE THAT STANDS OUT IS WHEN HIM AND AUNT ODIE CAME TO MY DAUGHTER'S WEDDING IN 2003. MY OLDEST GRANDDAUGHTER WAS JUST ABOUT THREE WEEKS OLD AND HE WAS HOLDING HER. HE WAS LIKE A GRANDFATHER TO ALL OF THE GREAT NIECES AND NEPHEW. GOING TO MISS HIM BUT KNOW HE IS IN A BETTER PLACE. LOVE YOU. SHERRY Posted by SHERRY BLADE - ROCKFORD, IL - NEICE May 21, 2011
As a child I remember going with Uncle Boots making deliveries in his gas truck, the best part was sitting on his lap and steering. I loved spending time with Uncle Boots and Aunt Leola making homemade ice cream, staying at their house was great. Uncle boots will never be forgotten especially since you shared a birthday with my wife Fran. My kids and now grandsons thought you were the best!!! Dick Posted by Dick Robbins - nephew May 19, 2011
