Willard Dale Halfhill Obituary's Obituary
Willard Dale Halfhill, son of Clyde and Grace (Ayres) Halfhill was born in Wayne County on August 5, 1917 and passed away on July 14, 2014 at the Corydon Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 96 years, 11 months and 9 days. He attended Mt. Pleasant School until his family moved into Allerton where he graduated from high school. Growing up Willard had several jobs, one being carrying papers in Allerton. On April 15, 1939 he married Janice Shelton and they made their home south Clio. To this union three children were born: Louise, Leonard and Lowell (the 3 L's). Willard was member of the Clio Methodist Church and was proud to be a Southern Wayne County farmer. His parents Clyde and Grace Halfhill, wife Janice, brother Curt, half- brother Doyle, two half- sisters Florence and Glyda, and his son Leonard preceded him in death. Those left to mourn his passing are his daughter Louise (Wayne) Alley, daughter-in-law Ellie Burton and son Lowell (Diana) Halfhill. Other survivors include grandchildren: Greg (Patty) Alley, Lori (Tom) Bruening, Debra (John) Pekarck, Michael (Jeanette) Halfhill, Matt (Jessie) Halfhill, Holli (Matt) Bowser; great-grandchildren: Jen (Alex) Ritzman, Amanda and Tyler Alley, Bryan (Alex) Bruening, Cole Bruening (fianc Molly), Cassidy and Logan Pekarck, Ethan and Johanna Halfhill, Wilda and Cylvia Halfhill, Madison Bowser; and two year old great great granddaughter Chloe Ritzman and many nieces and nephews.
