Willard 'Smokey' Miller's Obituary
Willard 'Smokey' Waldo Miller Jr., age 66, of Ottumwa, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
Smokey was born on October 31, 1951 in Sigourney, the son of Willard 'Smokey' Sr. and Mildred 'Millie' (Davis) Miller. He attended Sigourney Jr./Sr. High school.
Smokey held various jobs throughout his life. He was a painter by trade, and had his own painting business on the side. Most recently, he was employed by Cargill Meat Solutions.
Smokey was a gambling man, who enjoyed playing poker, pitch, and pool. Most of all, he loved spending time with his friends and family.
Smokey is survived by his children, Cassandra (Teresa) Young-Gray, Brandon Murphey, Corey (Denise) Miller, Darcie (Jason) Essary, Lindsey Miller (AJ RachFord), and Kelsi (Lee) Sheets; his grandchildren, Colten, K'lyn, Kolbi, Victoria, Vanessa, Braxton, Austen, Kameren, Sophia, Chloee, Nigel, Millie, Layne, Bailee, and Axel; his siblings, Linda (Stan) McGinity, Harlen (Cheryl) Miller, Sherry (Joe) Ladley, Lori (John) Wolski; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Allen Miller; and a daughter, Shaunna Miller.
Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 with family greeting friends from 5-8PM at the Agency Community Center in Agency, Iowa. Lange Funeral Home and Crematory of Centerville has been entrusted with caring for the Miller family. Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com.
