Wilda Mae Smith's Obituary
Wilda Mae Smith of Moulton, Iowa passed away at the age of 81 at University of Iowa Hospital on July 23, 2022.
She was born on February 22, 1941 in Moulton, Iowa to Marvin and Gertrude Starr. Siblings were Marvin Starr, Francis Starr, Rick Starr, Bettie Hernandez and Lala Rockwood. She attended Colfax Mingo High school where she graduated from in 1958.
She married Virgil Smith in 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa. Throughout Wilda's life she welcomed her children Fred Smith, Loran Smith, Ray Salazar, Trudy Salazar and Shawn Maldonado. She loved being at home, whether it was spending her time sewing, crocheting, talking to her sister or spending time with her many grandchildren. She also enjoyed going out to attend an auction.
She is survived by sons; Fred Smith (Kim), Loran Smith (Jan) and Ray Salazar. Siblings; Marvin Starr, Bettie Hernandez and Lala Rockwood. 13 grandkids and 21 great grandkids. And numerous extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Gertrude Starr. Husband Virgil Smith. Daughters; Trudy Salazar and Shawn Maldonado. Siblings; Marvin Starr, Francis Starr, Rick Starr. Granddaughter Chrissy Flores.
