Wilbur Pearl Moore's Obituary
Wilbur Pearl Moore, age 86, of Bloomfield, IA, died Monday, November 3, 2003, at Home west of Bloomfield, IA. He was born the son of Charles Columbus and Cora Isabelle (Marvin) Moore on December 11, 1916 in Dean, IA. He graduated from Moulton High School in 1935.Wilbur was united in marriage to Christine Dickson on July 10, 1949 in Bloomfield, IA. He served our country in the U.S. Army as a cook from 1942 to 1945. While in the Army he served in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines. He helped farm the home-place, worked at Knock on Wood in Bloomfield and retired from Union Carbide in Centerville, IA as a maintenance mechanic in 1984. He was affiliated with the Drakesville United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the American Legion in Bloomfield.Surviving family members are: wife, Christine Moore of Bloomfield, IA; 2 sons, Francis Moore and his wife, Peggy of Waterloo, IA and Ronald Moore and his wife, Kathy of Bloomfield, IA; 3 daughters, Karen Fluharty and her husband, Dale of Redfield, IA, Marilyn Spoede and her husband, Eric of Warrenton, MO and Sandra Sedivec of New Hampton, IA; 12 grandchildren, Stacey Moore, Samuel Moore and his wife, Catherine, Wesley Moore, Michael Fluharty, Michelle Brown and her husband, Kasy, Lindsay Fluharty, Amy Spoede, Sara Spoede, Stephanie Sedivec, Matthew Sedivec, and one great grandchild, Isaac Brown. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at 1:30 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, IA with Rev. Kevin Gingerich officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltown Cemetery south of Moulton, IA.Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton with the family present from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Southern Iowa and may beleft at or mailed to the To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Wilbur Pearl Moore please visit our Sympathy Store.
