Wilbur J. Hayes' Obituary
Wilbur John Hayes, age 78, of Centerville, died November 25, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville, Iowa.
Wilbur was born October 21, 1929, the son of Zimmer and Lucretia (Whitall) Hayes in Centerville, Iowa. Wilbur married Charlene Crain on June 24, 1950 in Centerville. Wilbur was a member of the Walnut Lodge in Mystic, Iowa for fifty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Wilbur is survived by his wife; a daughter, Charla (Ron Gomez) Hayes of Camarillo, CA; two sisters, Olive Sleeth, Janice Hayes; a brother, Bert Hayes; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Clifford Hayes, Bueford Hayes, Wilma Shondel, Edna Pearl Wales, Wilfred Hayes, Wiley Hayes and Ronald Hayes.
A Masonic Service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Gene Aldrich officiating. Burial will follow at the Dale Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home with family present from 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established to the Walnut Masonic Lodge in Mystic or Mercy Hospice and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
