Wesley Dueling's Obituary
Wesley Gene Dueling, oldest son of Gene Dueling and Lennis McKinney Weaver, was born September 10, 1964 at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. He passed away June 21, 2010 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 45 years. Wes attended Wayne Community Schools where he dropped out of high school, but later returned to get his GED. Wes met the love of his life in the spring of 1985 and was married on March 6, 1987. There were no children born to this union, but Wes accepted the responsibility of raising three stepchildren like they were his own: T. J., David, and Michelle. They also became the love of his life. In May 1991, Wes and Lori decided to make changes in their lives and moved to Tennessee where Wes was employed as a school bus driver, mobile home mover, concrete truck drive, mail truck drive and gasoline tanker driver. After the death of Wes's mother, the home roots of Wayne County called him and his family back to Allerton. After returning to Iowa Wes began his battle with heart disease. Wes was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather, Ruby and Art Dueling, mother Lennis Weaver, step-sister Jeana Elaine, step-mother Joy Dueling, and uncle Larry Dueling. He is survived by wife Lori, sons T. J. Alexander and David Alexander both of Allerton and daughter Michelle Alexander of Milan, Missouri, father Gene Dueling of Allerton, aunt and uncle Doug and Keo Dueling of Des Moines, grandmother Hazel Chambers of Lone Mountain, Tennessee, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Tennessee. Other survivors include his stepsister Kim of Centralia, Missouri and stepbrother Michael of Columbia, Missouri. Wes was also Grandpa to T. J.'s children, Breanna, Dakota, Destiny, and David Alexander's son, Quinn. Wes attended Freewill Baptist Church in Bluff City, Tennessee. After returning to Allerton, he became a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Wes has always had faith in Jesus as his Savior. Wes loved life. He will be missed.
