WAYNE ARTHUR WESTPHAL Obituary's Obituary
Wayne Arthur Westphal, 72 of Seymour, IA died February 7, 2015 in rural Putman County. He was born August 10, 1942 to Arthur and Lillian (Laue) Westphal in Fairmont, Minnesota He received his elementary education at St. Paul's Lutheran Parochial School in Wilbert, Minnesota and his high school education was received at Ceylon Community School in Ceylon, Minnesota. After graduation he joined the National Guard for 6 years. He was united in marriage to MaLora Beal on September 4, 1966 at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Titonka, Iowa and to this union three children were born. In March of 1979, the family moved to Seymour, Iowa and started farming until present. He did custom baling and fence building while maintaining his own farm. He helped local neighbors with their cattle and farming needs. In the spring of the year, he would work at Fowlers Elevator in Seymour. He never knew a stranger and helped anyone when needed. He enjoyed his grandkids and loved to tease them. Wayne was preceded in death by his father Arthur Westphal, father- in law Kenneth Beal, mother-in-law Zelda Beal and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, his three children: David (Stacey) Westphal of Seymour, Denise (Justin) McCoy of Centerville, and Danny (Lindsey Moore) Westphal of Promise City; nine grandkids: Jared and Raven Westphal, Grey, Lane, Logan and Gracie McCoy, Nathan, Trent and Parker Westphal. Other survivors include his mother Lillian Westphal of Fairmont, Minnesota, two sisters Sandy (Gary) Anderson of Dunnell, Minnesota, Sharon (David) Gorham of Darwin, Minnesota.
