Wayne Hancox's Obituary
Wayne Hancox, 82 passed away on April 16th, 2025 at his home in Marion, Iowa.
Wayne was born to Paul and Kathleen Hancox at the family farm in Seymour, Iowa on July 4th, 1942. He graduated from Seymour High School and was united in marriage to R. L. Janice Brown on March 25, 1962 in Memphis, Missouri. This marriage brought Wayne and Jan two sons, Scott and Greg. Wayne worked as a welder for Alliant Energy, and following many years of work in this position he retired.
Wayne loved to hunt, fish, and camp. He was most often found working in his shop or watching NASCAR. Wayne also enjoyed building guns, working on and riding motorcycles, as well as spending time with his family and friends. He was always available as a helping hand to anyone in need.
Wayne is survived by: his sons Scott Hancox (Lindy) of Marion, Iowa, and Greg Hancox (Sarah) of Solon, Iowa, eight grandchildren: Ryleigh (Creed), Payton (Grant), Jacey (Michael), Tyler, Sawyer, MaKynlie, Emily, and Alyssa, as well as four great grandchildren. His brother Allan Hancox (Linda) of Atkins, Iowa, sister Paula Poli (Jim) of Clive, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and wife Jan.
Services for Wayne will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, IA. Visitation will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Burial will be held at a later date at the Corydon Cemetery. Memorial made be made out to the Family to be determined at a later date and mailed to Thomas Funeral Home Attn: Hancox Family 303 E.
