Wallace ""Junior"" Davolt's Obituary
Wallace ""Junior"" Davolt, age 88 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was born in Unionville, Missouri on September 13, 1925 to Wallace and Thelma (Lloyd) Hunt. Junior enlisted in the United States Army on November 19, 1943. He served his country faithfully during World War II in both Germany and France. Junior was honorably discharged from the Army on March 7, 1947. He was united in marriage to Fern Fenton. She preceded him in death in 1949. Junior later married Margaret Houser in 1988 in Centerville. Margaret preceded him in death on June 19, 2007.
Junior was employed with Alcoa in the Quad Cities for twenty two years. In his free time he enjoyed camping, traveling and going fishing.
He is survived by his son, Dean (Darlene) Davolt of Washington, Iowa; two step-children, John (Linda) Houser of Moravia, Iowa and Gary (Shelley) Houser of Wamego, Kansas; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Fern and Margaret Houser; two children, Warren Davolt Jr. and David Davolt; and two step-children, Richard Houser and Linda Louise Houser.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, April 21, 2014 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Gerald Campbell officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Mt. Ararat Cemetery east of Centerville. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
