Vivian L. Henderson's Obituary
Vivian Henderson, age 88, of Centerville, Iowa died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Golden Age Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center in Centerville.
Vivian was born January 28, 1922, the daughter of Dade and Vica (Kirby) Brown in Coal City, Iowa. She grew up in the Coal City area and graduated from Moulton High School. After graduation she taught grade school for a few years. Vivian married George Henderson on October 17, 1942 in Lancaster, Missouri. He preceded her in death. She loved to bake pies and cookies and enjoyed spending time in her garden and with family. Vivian attended the Moulton Christian Church.
Vivian is survived by a daughter, Linda (Charles) McCoy of Centerville, Iowa; two grandchildren, Sheri (Rex) Harris of Moulton, Iowa and Justin (Denise) McCoy of Centerville, Iowa; seven great grandchildren, Whitney, Chelsey, and Austin Harris of Moulton, Iowa and Grey, Lane, Logan, and Gracie McCoy of Centerville, Iowa, a brother-in-law, Tracey Corder of Moulton, Iowa; a nephew, Butch Corder of Moulton, Iowa; and a great nephew, Rusty Corder of Unionville, Iowa. She was preceded in death by husband; and parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at the Hilltown Cemetery in Moulton, Iowa. A visitation will be held Saturday morning with the family present from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the memorial has been established to the Moulton First Responders or Hilltown Cemetery Association and may be left at or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52444.
