Virgie M. Campbell's Obituary
Virgie Maxine Campbell, age 86 of Moulton, Iowa, died on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of James Lee and Kate (Archer) Davis on November 25, 1924 near Dean, Iowa. She received her education in the Moulton Community Schools.On April 12, 1942, Virgie was united in marriage to Robert G. Campbell in Lancaster, Missouri. She was a homemaker and enjoyed the small town life of Moulton, Iowa. She had a great love for music, both country and gospel, and couldn't wait to get her Moulton Tribune each week.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Robert G. Campbell on October 1, 1994; a son, Ralph E. Campbell on March 1, 2005; her brothers, Roy Davis, Virgil Davis and Donald Davis; sisters, Dorothy Kerby, Betty Meyers, Mildred Davis and Shirley Davis.Virgie is survived by: her sons, Robert Campbell and his wife, Mary of East Moline, Illinois and Bobby Campbell and his wife, Cynthia of Galesburg, Illinois; her daughters, Charlotte Pitman of Moulton, Iowa and Georgia Campbell of Ames, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:00 am at Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Jerry Weller officiating. Burial of ashes will be held later at the Oakland Cemetery west of Moulton. No visitation is planned and the family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour before services on Monday at the funeral home.
