Violet V. West's Obituary
Violet V. West, age 89, of Centerville, Iowa, died Monday, January 29, 2007 at Centerville Nursing & Rehab Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Edward Allen and Amanda Melvina (Forsythe) Wilfawn on June 8, 1917 near Moulton, Iowa. She graduated from the Moulton Community Schools in 1937.On April 30, 1938, Violet was united in marriage to Miller C. West in Centerville, Iowa. She taught in a rural school and also later was a substitute teacher at Moulton. She was a member of the HEO club and a homemaker.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Miller West on August 17, 2003; eight brothers and two sisters.Violet is survived by: her daughter, Cheryl Piatt and her husband, Larry of Centerville, Iowa; sons, Ronald L. West and his wife, Marlene of Centerville, Iowa and Edward D. West and his wife, Arlys of Albia, Iowa; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; one step-great granddaughter and three great, great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Carl Heien officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery south of Unionville, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the Fairview Cemetery and can be mailed to or left at the To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Violet V.
