Violet Midge Gebhart's Obituary
Violet 'Midge' Gebhart, age 87, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Duward and Violet (Anderson) Foster on October 12, 1928 in Albia, Iowa. She received her education in the Albia Schools.On December 31, 1948, Midge was united in marriage to Vern 'Red' Gebhart in Des Moines, Iowa. She worked for a time in retail business, then she worked alongside her daughter, Jean, at JoBeaners restaurant in Centerville which they owned. She attended the First Baptist Church in Centerville.Midge was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Vern Gebhart on June 27, 2010; brothers, Glenn, Andy, Bob, Bill, and Duward Foster; and sisters, Jennie Doughtery and Carol MastersonShe is survived by: her son, Vern Gebhart (Dale) of Gilbert, Arizona; daughters, Jean Kozak (Frank) of Centerville, Iowa and Sue Gebhart (Karlin Sink) of Hedgeville, West Virginia; grandchildren, Eric Kozak (Susan) of West Des Moines, Iowa and Steven Kozak of Centerville, Iowa.Funeral services will be at 10 am, Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Lloyd Johnston officiating. Burial at the Haines Cemetery north of Centerville. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 2 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home, family present from 6 p until 8 pm.Memorials to the First Baptist Church in Centerville.
