Viola (McVeigh) Russell, age 85, of Norwalk, Iowa, formerly of Centerville, Iowa, died Monday, January 2, 2006, at CLC Nursing Home, in Norwalk, Iowa. Viola was born the daughter of Nathan and Nettie (Dockery) Sanders on November 18, 1920 in Centerville, Iowa. In 1938, she graduated from Centerville High School in Centerville, Iowa.She was married to her first husband John McVeigh for forty -three years, until he passed away in 1983; later she married, Jim Russell. Viola was employed by JC Penney's as a salesclerk and was also a representative for Avon. She was a member of Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville, Iowa.Viola was preceded in death by: her parents; and her first husband, John McVeigh April 4, 1983.She is survived by: her second husband, Jim Russell, of Des Moines, Iowa; Two Daughters: Sharon and her husband, Ralph Ingebritson of Overland Park, Kansas and Linda and her husband, Darwin Nothwehr of Mobile, Alabama; One Son, Don and his wife, Glenda McVeigh of Terre Haute, Indiana; One Brother, John Sanders of Fort Madison, Iowa; One Sister, Juanita Main of Casper, Wyoming; and six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Jim Wakelin officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa.
