Victoria Anne Rosencrants' Obituary
Victoria Anne Rosencrants, age 70, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.
Vic was born on May 9, 1951 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (OBrien) Rosencrants. She graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Iowa in 1969 and later received a Bachelor of Science degree from Graceland University.
She traveled the world throughout her lifetime, living in many places across several continents. Vic lived in San Francisco for twenty years. She also resided in Northern India for twelve years, where she was employed in exports and shipping. Vic also lived in Tibet for a brief period of time, as well as a short window of time in Nepal, where she owned and operated a jewelry store. Moreover, Vic lived for an estimated seven years in Kathmandu during which she owned and operated the Rose Mushroom Night Club.
Most recently, Vic resided in Centerville, a time in which she engaged in her true passion, horse training. She loved training horses to race, following this passion for many years until her health began to decline. Vics favorite horse went by the name of Jackie Blue.
Vic is survived by her mother, Mary Rosencrants of Hot Springs, Arkansas; as well as three brothers, Kevin Rosencrants of Lawrence, Kansas, Kurt Rosencrants of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Jeff (Tanya) Rosencrants of St. Charles, Missouri; and six nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Rosencrants; paternal grandparents, Henry and Blanche Rosencrants; and her maternal grandmother, Josephine Wells.
According to Vics wishes, cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville with Father Bill Hubmann officiating. Visitation will take place, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 1:00-3:00PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. Jude Childrens Hospital and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
