Vickie Lynn Perry's Obituary
Vickie Lynn Perry of Centerville, Iowa died on one of her most favorite holidays, December 24th, 2025 in Davenport, Iowa surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to Wayne and Betty (Briggs) Watters. She graduated from Ottumwa High School and later went on to Graduate from Indian Hills Community College as well as Buena Vista University.
In her younger years she helped operate the family farm and milked many cows each day as well as taking care of the farm animals. She was no stranger to hard work and Midwest values. She WAS Iowa nice.
She worked and later retired from Indian Hills Community College. She worked in "The Barn" where she loved meeting students and being a "mom" to many of the baseball players. She never met a stranger and always wanted to make sure people felt taken care of.
When she wasn't working, she loved being in the yard, mowing their acreage, gardening and could be found making her famous pickles in the summer as well as canning for days. When she needed a break, you could find her at Scooters Coffee in town. She adored her baristas who were always so friendly to her.
She and Richard enjoyed traveling to Branson and camping out at the lake.... even when they lived only a few minutes away. They loved being outside together working on their farm and feeding their cows.
Most importantly she was kind and she would want nothing more than for those who cared about her to go and do something kind in her memory.
Vickie loved her family fiercely. She was always quick to share about her grandchildren and how proud she was of them.
Those left heartbroken without her are her daughter, Tifini Kreitz (Brandon) of Davenport; grandsons, Colton (Lauren) Foglesong and Carson Foglesong;
Step-son Scott (DonnaLee) Perry; grandchildren, Logan (Kendall) Perry, Lauren (Nick) Chase, and Catie (James) Mertz; 3 great grandchildren, Nolan, Avery and Emersyn; dear friends, Brian Mitchell, Gary Burrell Jr., Jeremy Long, and other extended family and friends.
Preceded in death were her grandparents, Harry and Edith Briggs, parents Wayne and Betty Watters and most recently the love of her life, Richard
