Veta Lorena McCarty's Obituary
Veta L. McCarty, 102 passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. Veta was born to Jake & Pearl (Brown) Snuggs in Sterling, Colorado on April 25, 1918. She received her education from Norwood High School, graduating in 1936. On July 1, 1942; Veta was united in marriage to Max Alfred McCarty in Junction City, Kansas. To this union came three girls: Sandy, Shirlene and Joann. Veta had the greatest job in the world; she was a homemaker. She stayed at home and took care of her kids. Veta's family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. In her spare time Veta enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. Survivors include her three children: Sandy Farnam, Shirlene Lucas (Max), Joann Kovacevich (Dan), grandchildren: Sherri Peterson (Ron), Kelly Baxter (Don), Rob Kovacevich, Leigh Johnson (Tony), nine great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Max McCarty, son-in-law, Keith Farnam, siblings: Granville Snuggs, Orville Snuggs, Noma Wahl, Dorothy Snuggs, Chester Snuggs and Ivan Snuggs. Graveside service will take place 1:30 pm at Promise City Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
