Velma B. Davis' Obituary
Velma B. Davis, age 81 of Centerville, Iowa, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, IA. She was born the daughter of Charlie and Sarah (Thomas) Davis on November 24, 1922 in Centerville. She received her education at the Mystic Community Schools.Velma and her long time companion, Jack Nicholson, owned an operated the Hoskingson Nursing Home in Centerville, Iowa for many years. They moved to Western Iowa for a time and and just recently had moved back to Centerville.Velma was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Garold, William, Emery, Lester, Elson and Theodore Davis; sister, Alta Davis and Vilora Soliz.Survivors include: her companion for over 35 years, Jack Nicholson of Centerville, Iowa; sons, Russell Byers of Crestview, Florida, George Myers of Toolie, Utah, Jake Byers of Loveland, Colorado and Max Byers of Iowa; daughters, Velma Ann Popken of Chandler, Arizona and Ruth Sayre of Chicago, Illinois; brother, Harold Davis of Ottumwa, Iowa; 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2003 at 1 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev.
