Vanetta Sievers' Obituary
Vanetta Sievers, age 95 of Unionville, Iowa passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa.
She was born May 14, 1915 in Tama County daughter of Henry and Lena Rohwer Arp. Vanetta attended country school. She married Lester Sievers on May 15, 1935 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa.
Vanetta was always busy outside. Her love for horses developed at a young age while working with her Dad on the farm. Vanetta farmed with her husband and son for many years near Gladbrook, Iowa. When she wasn't working with all kinds of animals she was busy gardening and canning. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, reading and the ""Wheel of Fortune"".
Vanetta was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 brothers Ruben, Milo, Leroy, and Clarence; And two sisters Helen Gillispie and Ellen Hadacheck.
Survivors include 2 sons Virgil Sievers of Unionville, Iowa and Dale (Barbara) Sievers of Promise City, 2 granddaughters Tami (Merle) Mann of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Ranae (Tim) Wacker of Plainview, Nebraska, 5 great grand children Robert, Kristi, Jon, Jerimiah, and Troy Mann all of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Two sisters Marian Schulz and Eunice Pieper both of Gladbrook, Iowa.
Graveside services will be held at 11AM Wednesday March 30, 2011 at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook, Iowa. Friends may call Tuesday at the Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with the family present from 6-8PM. A memorial has been established to the Methodist Church in Unionville, Iowa and may be left at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.langefh.com
