Tyler Jacobsen's Obituary
Tyler James Jacobsen, 47, of Centerville passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at his home. Tyler was born in Harlan, Iowa on March 9, 1971 to James & Linda (Stoltz) Jacobsen. He received his education from Harlan Community School District, graduating in 1989. Tyler would further his education at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota receiving a degree in Geography. On July 11, 1998, Tyler was united in marriage to Shawna Lynn Ickes. To this union came twin daughters; Sidney Ann and Brenna Jo. Tyler was employed as a GIS Specialist at Rathbun Rural Water. He was active in numerous organizations including, Pheasants Forever and Appanoose County Shooting Club. Tyler enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, trap/skeet shooting, shooting at the gun range and his trips to Canada with his buddies fishing. He loved to watch football and hockey, and cooking/grilling for his family and attending his twin daughter's activities. Survivors include his wife, Shawna Jacobsen, twins; Sidney Ann & Brenna Jo, dog, Macy, cat, Jake, mother, Linda Jacobsen, brothers: Todd Jacobsen (Patty), Troy Jacobsen (Dena), nephews; Jason Jacobsen (Erin), Quentin Jacobsen, Chase Jacobsen, Brett Harmon, Chris Harmon, niece, Josey Jacobsen, father & mother-in-law, Allan & Bonnie Ickes, sisters-in-law, Sandi Harmon (Larry), Carmen Nelson (Eric) and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, James and his grandparents. Celebration of Tyler's life will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy McElvain officiating. Visitation will take place 2 hours prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Memorials may be given to JACOBSEN TWINS COLLEGIATE FUND and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
