Tracey Murel Corder's Obituary
Tracey M. Corder, age 93, of Moulton, Iowa, died Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri. He was born the son of John and Hattie (Henning) Corder on February 20, 1921 in Coal City, Iowa. Tracey attended a rural Appanoose County School near Hilltown, Iowa.Tracey was united in marriage to Drucella Henderson in Lancaster, Missouri on July 15, 1943. Tracey served in the US Navy as a Gunner's Mate Second Class with the Naval Armed Guard during World War II from July 1942 until his honorable discharge in February 1946. After his discharge, he farmed over 15 years near Livonia, Missouri; then, after moving to Moulton, Iowa, he began delivering LP gas until his retirement. However, he continued to raise Texas Longhorns on a farm near Unionville, Iowa. He thoroughly enjoyed showing his two Model A cars in local car shows. He also enjoyed going with his grandson to Naval reunions, hunting, and doing many other outdoor activities. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Drucella (January 15, 2007); sisters, Florence Gordy and Nellie Lee; and brothers, Carl, Bobbie, J.D., and Ted Corder. Tracey is survived by: his son, Tracey "Butch" Corder of Moulton, Iowa and his grandson, Rusty Corder of Unionville, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Reverend Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery, Moulton. Visitation will be held at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 2pm until 8pm and the family will be present from 6 pm until 8 pm. Memorials can be made to First Responders or Project Liberty Ship and can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
