Tony R. Todey's Obituary
Tony Todey, age 91, formally of Rathbun, Iowa died Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Mary Greeley Hospital, Ames, Iowa.
Tony was born May 19, 1915 the son of John and Adele (Starcevich) Todey in Rathbun, Iowa. He was married to Emma Polich November 27, 1941 at Rathbun, Iowa. Tony entered into the United States Army on June 9, 1942 and severed until October of 1945. He was employed by Deere & Company for more than 30 years. Tony also worked as a bookkeeper at Joe Dixon Rock Quarry. He lived in Rathbun his whole life. He was a member of the St. Anthony's Church in Rathbun and the St. Mary's Church in Centerville.
Tony is survived by his wife Emma, a brother, Ralph Todey; eight children, Julie (Jerry) McCann of Lutherville, Maryland, Del (David) Turner, of Waterloo, Iowa, Ellen (David) Kacmarynski, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Francis (Marianne) Todey of Ames, Iowa, Rosie (Gary) Thierer, of Mitchellville Iowa, Rita (Dale) Peters, of Spencer, Iowa, Larry (Connie) Todey, of Granger, Indiana, and Dennis (Cheryl) Todey of Brookings, SD; sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Tony was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers John, Frank, George, Vince, Laddie, Carl, Julio and Emeric Todey; and two sisters Mary Glovas and Pauline Kauzlarich.
Mass of Resurrection will be held 10 AM Saturday, September 23, 2006 at St Mary's Catholic Church, Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Ron Will C.PP.S officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa. Friends may call all day Friday with the family present from 5-7 PM at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville. A memorial has been established to the St. Mary's Catholic Church and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
