Tony Sheston's Obituary
Tony Sheston Tony Sheston, age 91 of Centerville died Friday, November 14, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville.
Tony was born in Rathbun, Iowa the son of Thomas and Mary Sheston on June 27, 1912. He was married to Dixie Swan on October 27, 1936. Tony owned and operated filling stations in Centerville for 25 years, he also operated the Luxor Cab Co., he co-owned the Green Circle restaurant in 1940 for four years, he was a salesman of Coates and Whitely Chevrolet from 1954-1956. then sold Mutual of Omaha Insurance for 25 years and farmed throughout his entire career. After retirement he sold monuments for Centerville Monument Co. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a veteran of W.W.II.
Surviving are his wife Dixie of Centerville, son Wayne Sheston and wife Jane of Centerville two granddaughters Susanne Sheston and husband Bryan Stanley of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Stacey Sheston of Sacramento, CA, a brother Paul Sheston and wife Ann of Centerville, a brother William and wife Helen of Dubuque, Iowa, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers John and George, and two sisters Helen Matjas and Mary Burke.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11:30, Monday morning, November 17, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Miller C.PP.S. officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 11 AM until 8 PM at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. A Prayer service will be held at 5:30 PM Sunday afternoon at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Centerville.
