Timothy Whitcomb's Obituary
Timothy Jon Whitcomb, age 54 of Mystic, Iowa passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines.
Timothy was born May 28th, 1967, to Robert and Carol (Worthen) Whitcomb.
He graduated from Vinton High School, and he enlisted into the Army after graduation. Tim worked as a truck driver for several years before continuing his education at Indian Hills for Micro-Computer Specialist graduating in 1997. He was a computer specialist for several years before again continuing his education at Indian Hills and graduating with an Associate of Applied Science in Drafting and Virtual Reality Technology in 2006. Tim finished his career working for Vermeer in Pella. He was united in marriage, with the love of his life Rhonda, on January 1, 1996.
Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with family, on computers, photography, and making people smile. He loved working at Vermeer, and spending time with his friends. If there was a problem with a computer, everyone knew to call Tim.
Tim was a loving husband, father, PaPa, and uncle. He absolutely adored his grandchildren and watching them grow. Tim loved to spoil his wife, and always treated her like a queen.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Rhonda Whitcomb of Mystic, Children Billy (Allison) Beaty of Moravia, Desiree (Daniel) Watson of Conway Arkansas, Shalee (Andrew) Hoffman of Iowa, TJ (Ronne) Whitcomb, Michael Whitcomb, Josh (Anna) Whitcomb, Eric Whitcomb, and Nathaniel (Lindsey) Whitcomb all of Conway Arkansas. Mother Carol Leatherwood of Oskaloosa, Brother Kevin Whitcomb of Ottumwa, Sister-in-law Becky (Boone) Bills of Mystic, sister-in-law Mona (Donnie) Barbaglia of Mystic, brother in law Mike (Kim) Beaty of Moravia, and a sister in law Raelynn (Doug) Robinson of Moravia, 24 grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Tim was preceded in death by his father Robert Whitcomb, Grandmother Minnie Irene Worthen, and Grandfather Otto Paul Worthen.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 2-4 PM at the Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville. Military rites will take place at 4 PM, at the Funeral Home. Inurnment in the Highland Cemetery of Mystic will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established to Rhonda Whitcomb, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
