Thomas E. Riddick's Obituary
Thomas Riddick, age 68 died Sunday June 11, 2006 at his home in Centerville.
Thomas was born February 25, 1938 the son of Thomas B. and Alice (Peck) Riddick at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He married Donna Perkins on February 28, 1998.
Thomas attended East Ward School and Mystic Schools receiving his diploma in 1957. He entered the U.S. Marine Corp in 1955 serving in Vietnam and retired as a 1st Sgt. in 1975. After retirement from the U.S. Marine Corp he served as a Deputy Sheriff for 10 years. Tom's Marine lifestyle carried into his life, he always did for others neglecting himself. He worked at Elliott Electric before opening Centerville Electric. Upon retiring from Centerville Electric he worked for the Centerville School System until his death. Tom served on the Pancake Committee and Mystic Alumni Association. He was a member of the VFW and Highland Cemetery.
Tom is survived by his wife, Donna, a daughter; Tammy Riddick of Duluth, GA, a son; Thomas A. Riddick of Numa, IA, a step-son; Mike McClure (Kelly) of Cincinnati, IA, a step-daughter; Joani Henderson (Josh) of Ankeny, IA, three grandchildren; Keenan, Kylee and McKinley, a brother John Riddick (Barbara) of Mt. Pleasant, IA, two sisters; Pamela Winegarden (Richard) of Seymour, IN, Theresa Samuel (Cecil) of Melrose, IA, mother and father in-law; Johnnie and Livina Perkins of Unionville, MO, sister-in-law; Connie Green (Sam) of East Moline, IL, a brother-in-law; Bob Perkins (Leigh) of Liberty, Mo and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patty and a niece Jennifer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Ron Will C.PP.S officiating. Friends may call all day Tuesday with family present from 6-8 PM at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the Highland Cemetery in Mystic, IA. A memorial has been established to the Hospice of Central Iowa and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S.18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
