Thomas Blank's Obituary
Thomas Blank, age 38 of Cincinnati, Iowa passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa.
Thomas was born on November 5, 1978 in Red Oak, Iowa, the son of Kenneth Blank and Melody Monahan.
Throughout his adult years, Thomas worked in construction, dry walling, welding, and roofing. He loved the outdoors; especially if he was hunting or fishing. He was a very free-spirited person, who enjoyed living in the moment. He was also very fond of engaging in conversation with family and friends. Most of all, his children were very important to him, and he loved them dearly.
Thomas is survived by his parents, Kenneth (Mary Jean) Blank of Cincinnati, Melody (Doug) Brooks of Sacramento, California; his children, Jeremy Campbell- Gaunt of Red Oak, Iowa, and Chelsey Blank of Villisca, Iowa; his step grandfather, Richard Thompson of Villisca, Iowa; his step grandmother, Evelee Prokes of Cincinnati; his sisters, Jessica (Lance) Steffen of Mt. Ayr, Iowa and Laura (Shad) Sowers of Hot Springs, South Dakota; step siblings, Jonah (John) Claeys of Seymour, Iowa, Alex Harkins, Matt Brooks, Dana Brooks, and Jessica Brooks; four nieces, Oakley Sowers, Payton Gregg, Brooklyn Prokes, and Morgan Sowers; two nephews, Oliver Sowers and Quentin Gregg; as well as many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Charles Blank ; a step grandfather, Jerome Ivan 'Crazy Jerry' Prokes; two grandmothers, Arlean Blank, and Kathleen Edie; and a cousin, Chantel Goines.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Mark Walsh officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service. A visitation will take place from 1-2PM Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville.
