Theodore Teddy Oehler's Obituary
Theodore ""Teddy"" Francis Oehler, 60, of Mystic, Iowa died from injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident on July 28, 2011.
Ted was born April 3, 1951 in Centerville, Iowa to Francis and Evelyn Oehler, who preceded him in death.
He attended local schools, graduating from Centerville High School, as well as attending Indian Hills Community College.
Teddy had many interests and passions which he pursued with enthusiasm. Ted loved to collect old toys, signs, cars, relics and many varied items. Through the years he attended antique and flea markets throughout Iowa, Missouri, and Texas. Ted always seemed to know what were the right items to buy that would appeal to his customers. He had friends and acquaintances from many places that would come to his home to purchase and enjoy being with him. Ted was a true outdoorsman and loved fishing, boating, hunting, and just being outside and living by Lake Rathbun. Ted loved his family and was a loyal friend to many. He was kind and giving to his family and friends. Teddy was a true individual and lived his life the way he wanted.
He is survived by his son Shad (Angie) Oehler of Centerville, Iowa, a daughter Lyndsay Oehler of Centerville, Iowa, Shane Gooden of Centerville, and Missy Gooden of Centerville; his sisters Susan (Donald) Forsling of Clive, Iowa and Sally (Ronald) Hampton of Urbandale, Iowa; his former wives Deb Hawk and Inez Blecker; significant others Connie Gooden and Karen Kissinger; and ten grandchildren, Dylan, Cameron, Patton, Zack, Jeff, Kylan, Taylor, Meleia, Collin, and Cade.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville. Burial will follow the service in the Dale Cemetery, north of Centerville. A visitation will be held from 9 AM-8 PM on Tuesday, August 2 at Lange Funeral Home, with the family present from 5-8 PM.
