Tell Mattly's Obituary
Tell Mattly, 50, of Seymour, passed away at Wayne County Hospital in hospice care on May 3, 2017. Tell was born on April 28, 1967 to Billy Joe and Maxine (Barrell) Mattly in Rock Island, Illinois. He attended Seymour Community School. Tell married Debbie Garris on May 17, 1986 in Paris City, Missouri. To this union they had one daughter, Heather Dawn. Their marriage ended in divorce. Later, Tell and Janice Morgan had one son, Tell Martin Joe, Jr. "TJ" on March 3, 1990. Tell was a jack of all trades. He worked in the early years with his brother, Mark in his mechanic shop. Tell is survived by his mother, Maxine; daughter, Heather; son, Tell "TJ"; three grandsons and one granddaughter. He is also survived by his brothers: Mark (Dana) of Knoxville and Jim (Sharon) of Seymour as well as several extended family members and his beloved dog, Sissy. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe; grandparents: Tell and Mary Mattly and Earl and Marie Barrell as well as his niece, Shelby Kay. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Confidence Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Thomas Funeral Home in Seymour.
