Ted Jones' Obituary
Theodore ""Ted"" Jones, age 46, of Mystic, Iowa died Sunday afternoon in rural Moravia, Iowa.
Ted was born June 10, 1961, the son of E.C. and Pat (Tuszynski) Jones in Michigan City, Indiana. After the family moved to Iowa in 1976, Ted worked for Sidles Top Crop. He also worked for Mattingly Tree Service. Ted then worked as an independent tree trimmer and a truck driver for many years. He went to work at Iowa Steel and Wire for a while and then went back to working independently.
Ted was well known for his smile and his laugh. He was always helping his family, friends and any stranger that needed his help. Ted's kind heart and warm personality made it impossible for him to turn a person in need down when he or she needed him. He had a deep love for his family, especially his children. Ted will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ted resided in Mystic, Iowa and is survived by his wife Jill (Michele) Jones of Mystic, Iowa; his parents, E.C. and Pat Jones of Mystic, Iowa; four children, Patty (Johnny) Hatfield of Mystic, Iowa, Justin (Karen) Bowen of Ottumwa, Iowa, Beth (James) Jones of Mystic, Iowa, and Nathan Jones still at home; three grandchildren, Taylor Ruby, Nicole Hatfield, and Kaylee Bowen; four siblings, Mike (Lisa) Jones, Cliff (Martha) Jones, Angela (Greg) Howe, and Toni (Roger) Surber all of Mystic, Iowa; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ted was preceded in death by his infant son Joshua Jones.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor David Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa. A visitation will be held Wednesday at the funeral home with the family present from 6-8 pm that evening. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family of Ted Jones and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
