One of my earliest memories of Dode was going fishing with him and my dad, at a farm pond, I think. I could not bear to put the worm on the hook. Dode said the world would be a better place if it had more people as soft-hearted as me, which made me feel better. The Garbers and the Postons have been close for many ways, and this relationship has enriched my life in too many ways to name. Dode was a great man, and will be sorely missed. Hugs to all the Postons.

'Dode' and Marjean were friends of my grandparents, Roy and Elsie Patterson, and of my parents, Dorsey and Nelle Gunn. I did not know them well, but they were always kind to me as I was growing up. I admired 'Dode' for his wit, his humor, his intelligence, his business savvy and his regal carriage. He and Marjean gave me an antique green molded, etched glass bowl for my wedding in 1968. I treasured that gift. It was beautiful and unexpected......a lot like 'Dode' and Marjean. I offer my deep sympathy to Marjean and the rest of their family.
