Sylvia May Speirs, 71 of Moravia passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at her home in Moravia Sylvia was born on May 5, 1939 to Earl and Pebble (Miller) Knowles in Unionville, Missouri. She received her education from Unionville Schools. Sylvia married Elmer L. Speirs on September 21, 1958. Sylvia was employed by McGraw-Edison in Centerville, Banquet Foods in Milan, Missouri and Sheller Globe Blue Coach Foods in Quincy throughout her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Sylvia is survived by four children; Elmer V. & Terri Speirs, Renea & Michael Thompkins, Tina & Stephen Powers and Henry & Patricia Speirs, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brother, Raymond(Linda) Knowles, sisters, Marge Edwards, Delores Toolate, Phyllis Knowles and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters; Mary Ruth, Hazel and Almenda and a brother Jesse. Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010 at Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Missouri.
