Suzie Moorman's Obituary
Suzie Moorman, age 16 of Corydon, passed away at University of Iowa Hospital on August 23, 2020. Mark and Heather Moorman were blessed with the birth of their third daughter Suzanne Grace on August 19, 2004. Suzie joined sisters Sammie and Sarah Ruby. Suzie attended Wayne Community Schools and was ready to begin her sophomore year at Wayne Community High School. When Suzie first blessed our world with her presence, we knew she would not be with us for long. The doctors did not feel that she had a brain and they thought she would never walk, talk, see, or hear and that she would not make it past the age of 3 years old; however, God had other plans for her. Suzie was born a fighter and was given a second chance at life, as a result of the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Suzie received her life saving shunt at 1-1/2 months old and from then on, she slowly began to blossom. She grew into an amazing young lady. Suzie always believed in herself and never followed the norm. Her way was the right way. She was sassy and ornery but had the biggest heart of anyone. She did not know a stranger and was very polite. For as special as she was, she made everyone she came into contact with feel even more special. Suzie was a shining light in a world of uncertainty. You could see Jesus in her eyes as her mom has stated. Suzie was our miracle and she impacted the lives of so many. Although Suzie is skipping through the streets of heaven, she is still touching lives every day. We are grateful for the Iowa Donor Network for helping us to share her miracle with others. We have joy knowing that the impact of Suzie's life will continue on through them. Suzie was an active part of the Wayne Special Olympics Team and an honorary member of the Corydon Volunteer Fire Department. She also enjoyed "working" in the "shoe department" at Bowling Green Lanes. Suzie will be missed so much by her parents Mark and Heather Moorman, sisters Sammie and Sarah, grandparents; Pat and Leroy Perkins and Joan Moorman, many aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members, numerous classmates and dear friends. She was preceded in death by Grammy Hickman, Great Aunt Ellie Foster, Grandpa John Moorman, and Uncle Jack Moorman. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at the Wayne Falcon Athletic Complex. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Wayne County Fair Events Center at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. Interment will be at the Corydon Cemetery at a later date. Memorials in Suzie's honor may be given to any of the following: ISU Dance Marathon/Children's Miracle Network, Wayne Special Olympics, New Zion United Methodist Church or WAYCO Arts Council/Children's Theater.
