Stephen W. Shaffer's Obituary
Stephen W. Shaffer, age 56, of Mystic, Iowa, died Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born the son of Denton and Jacquetta (Milburn) Shaffer on July 24, 1959 in Rockford, Illinois. He graduated from the Centerville High School in Centerville, IowaHe spent a short time with the United States Army before being honorable discharged. He worked as a Welder for many years.Stephen was preceded in death by: his daughter, Brittnay A. Shaffer on June 17, 1997; his father, Denton Shaffer and a grandson, Jesse Hull.He is survived by: his wife, Darla Shaffer of Mystic, Iowa; his mother, Jacquetta Shaffer of Tampa, Florida; daughters, Brandi Hull and her husband, Jason of Moulton, Iowa, Stephanie Howell and her husband, Kevin of Glenwood, Iowa and Shelby Sines and her husband, Cory of Mystic, Iowa; brothers, Gary Shaffer and his wife, Ann of Harrisburg, North Carolina and Clifford Shaffer of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren, Steven Shaffer, Jacob Hull and Kennedy Sines.Memorial services will be held at 11 am, Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Dennis Beason officiating. Burial of ashes will be held later at the Highland Cemetery near Mystic, Iowa.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his family and left or mailed to the funeral home.
