I have so many memories. Dr. Jewett and Dr. Parks gave me my start in the medical field. I was scared to death of Dr. Jewett he always seemed to gruff . .. it was an act and I learned that after working with him for awhile. Spenser who is almost 18 years old was one of the last 2 babies Doc delivered. His plan was to stop delivering as of September 1, 1994 and I begged him to stay with me as Spenser was born on the 19th. When he delivered Shelby I remember him telling me that she was a boy . . .a red headed boy the whole time I was pregnant. She was born and of course she was a blond headed girl . . .he said, see I told you it was a blonde headed girl . . . when I looked at him he said well you can always fix the one with a can of red spray paint . . . nice! Shelby fell in love with him, in fact instead of being scared to the doctor she wanted to go every day . . . she would make googly eyes at him from the exam table and tell him she loved him. One day she jumped off the exam table and ran across the room and wrapped her whole body around one of his legs and squeezed him say I love you Dr. Jewett! . . . how embarassing. You were a great man and I am so glad I had the opportunity to work with you and even more glad that you delivered both of my babies. I know you will be truly missed.
