Stephen R. Kauzlarich's Obituary
Stephen R. Kauzlarich, age 92, of Centerville, Iowa, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Centerville Nursing and Rehab in Centerville. He was born the son of Joseph and T. Ella (Grenko) Kauzlarich on August 14, 1917 in Rathbun, Iowa. He served his country from January 1942 till November 1945 during WWII in the Army, and was a prisoner of war during his enlistment. Stephen was a member of the Catholic faith.On April 2, 1949, Stephen was united in marriage to Lucille Irene Thomas. He owned and operated with his wife, Steve's Plumbing and Heating for over 30 years in Centerville, Iowa.He is preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Lucille Kauzlarich; sister, Ann Kauzlarich; brothers, Marion Kauzlarich, and Mike Kauzlarich.Stephen is survived by: daughter, Sandi Ellis and her husband, Bill of Rathbun, Iowa; sister, Dorothy Johnson of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Brett Ellis and his wife, Laura of Ottumwa, Iowa, Tyler Ellis and his wife, Katrina of Albia, Iowa and Mollie Barger and her husband, Bobby of Centerville, Iowa; and eight great grandchildren.A joint funeral with his wife will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville Iowa with Rev. Carl Heien officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2009 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.A memorial fund has been established and will be named at a later date.
