Stanley Wayne Brown's Obituary
Stanley Wayne Brown, 75 of Mystic passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 in Mystic.
Stan was born to Ross Jr. & Arliss (Anderson) Brown in Centerville on March 14, 1950. Stan received his education from Centerville High School, graduating in 1969. After school Stan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served during Vietnam. Stan was promoted to Sergeant in 1972 and was a member of the Marine Corps Silent Drill Team performing at Arlington Cemetery. Stan was also in the Honor Guard participating in a presidential inauguration and a presidential funeral. Stan was awarded several medals during his time in the Marines, including the Navy Commendation Medal with Valor and Purple Heart.
Stan would come home after serving his country and was united in marriage to Patricia Roesner, they would later divorce. Stan worked construction the majority of his life. He enjoyed sitting on his tailgate drinking a beer while telling stories and jokes with family and friends. Stan went on many fishing trips to Canada and Minnesota with friends. Stan was always building or making something in his shop and loved helping people. He never did it for the money, always stated a meal was good enough pay for helping.
Survivors include his children: Mike Brown (Lisa), Marsha Brown (Brian Seeman), Renee Sheston (John), grandchildren: Larissa Havard (Adam), Kyle Brown, Mikaela Cossolotto (Lucas), Bryson Hixenbaugh, Hanna Owens (Garett), Holly Sheston (Taylor McGrann), four great grandchildren and another expected in July; siblings: John Brown (Cindy), Ellen Springer, Mark Brown; sister-in-law Connie Brown and numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Brown.
A celebration of Stan's life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service from 10-11 am. Interment will be at a later date in Numa Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family which will be designated at a later date.
