Shirley J. Summerhill's Obituary
Shirley Summerhill, age 85, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.
Shirley was born on November 29, 1934 in Mesa, Arizona, the daughter of John and Ora (Stephens) Shook. In her younger years, she attended schools in Gilbert, Arizona. The family then moved to Monroe, Oregon, and she graduated there with the Class of 1952. Shirley was then united in marriage to Lewis Ray Summerhill, and to this union, four children were born, Teri and Karen.
Shirley cherished her family, and enjoyed being a stay at home mom, and raising them.
Left to cherish Shirleys memory are her children, Teri Jack of Centerville, and Karen (Jon) Hagan of Branson, Missouri; a sister, Betty (Vernon) Scarbrough of Florence, Oregon; granddaughters, Mandy Scott Perez of Reno, Nevada, Crystal Hagan and Cody Hagan; 4 great grandchildren; as well as a great-great grandchild, Kayleen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ora Shook; and her husband, Lewis Ray Summerhill; and her children, Steven Summerhill and Kathy Summerhill.
Cremation has been accorded. Burial will be held at a later date in the Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon. Memorials may be made to the APC Food Pantry, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
