Shirley Ann Shatzer age 77 of Centerville, Iowa, died on Friday, November 28, 2008 at The Continental at St. Joseph's in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Christian and Beulah (Martensen) Petersen on October 13, 1931 in Clinton, Iowa. She graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, Iowa in 1949 and later attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she met her future husband, Harry Shatzer.On November 25, 1951, Shirley was united in marriage to Harry Shatzer in Clinton, Iowa. She was a homemaker, or as she would say, 'Domestic Engineer'.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Harry Shatzer on March 12, 2007; sisters, Joan Pringle and Polly Heinrichsen.Shirley is survived by: her sons, Jeff and his wife, Christy Shatzer of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Randy and his wife, Debbie Shatzer of Lees Summit, Missouri; daughters, Wanda Shatzer of Peoria, Illinois, Connie and her husband, Mike Henderson of Overland Park, Kansas and Sherri and her husband, Weston Frank of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; ten grandchildren; a sister, Marian Keffer of Wilmington, Delaware.No services are planned at this time, and her body has been cremated.
