Shirley J. Schlotter's Obituary
Shirley J. (Brinegar) Schlotter, 65, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 at home in Liberty, peacefully with her family. She he was born the daughter of Robert S. and Wilma (Kirby) Brinegar on Sept. 4, 1947 in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Education from Northeast Missouri State University in 1983.On Dec. 19, 1972 she was united in marriage to Robert D. Schlotter at St. John's United Methodist Church in Davenport, Iowa. She worked in medical management most of her career, most recently with Truman Medical Centers in Kansas City, Missouri. In death, Shirley rejoins her father, Robert S. Brinegar on April 9, 2010; a sister, Phyliss Morlan on April 6, 2011; her grandson, Noah Stockton, on Oct. 1, 2000; and her brother, Tommie Brinegar, on Sept. 20, 1997.Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert D. Schlotter, of Liberty, Missouri; her mother, Wilma Brinegar, of Moulton, Iowa; her daughters, Dawn Comer and her husband, Pete Comer, of Lake Lotawana, Missouri and Sara Schlotter and her significant other, Travis Nicholson, of Platte City, Missouri; a son, James Schlotter, of Liberty, Missouri; her brother, Larry Brinegar, of Moulton, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Deanna Brinegar, of Moulton, Iowa; and three grandsons, Jonathan, Michael and Brentley Comer, of Lake Lotawana, Missouri. A Visitation will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 1-2 PM with a Memorial service to follow at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa. Burial of ashes will at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton.Memorials can be made to the Wounded Warriors or the Liberty Christian Church and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
