Sheila Ann Rod Coady's Obituary
Sheila Ann Rod Coady, age 66, of Centerville, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville surrounded by family.
Sheila was born on March 5, 1959 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph Coady Sr. and Peggy (Crowder) Coady.
Sheila was the laundry supervisor and activities coordinator at Golden Age Care Center for 15 years. She treasured her residents and her job. She loved dressing up in costumes for the residents during the holidays, and in fun outfits throughout the year just to make them smile. Sheila was also great at dancing around the facility to put her residents in a good mood. She was a natural caregiver, always caring about all of the residents, making sure they weren't alone, as well as caring for many family members in their final moments. In her free time, Sheila adored the moments she spent with her kids, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her aunt Caren.
Left to cherish Sheila's memory are her children, Tera (Lyle) Tait and Joshua Wages (Julie Gaines); five grandchildren, Tya Lassabe (Joseph Burke), Dani Tait, Nichole (Justin) Doll, Kyle Tait, and Jaylee Durst; three great grandchildren, Kelsie Taylor, Kaysen Durst, and Adalina Hyde; two brothers, David (Ginger) Coady and Matthew (Kerri) Coady; her aunts and uncles, Danny Agan, Carol Agan, and Paul & Sandy Stankee; nieces, nephews, a special niece who was there for everything Sheila went through; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Peggy and Joseph Coady Sr.; and her siblings, Penny (Dave) Dawson, Joseph Coady Jr., Michael Coady and Danny Coady.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Holly Oden officiating. Burial will follow at Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. Visitation will take place Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 11:00AM-1:00PM.
