Sharon L. Barber's Obituary
Sharon (Cleaver) Barber, 58, of Unionville, IA died Sunday, November 30, 2009 at Long Term Care- Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Sharon was born April 29, 1951, the daughter of Garner and Helen (Gray) Cleaver in Centerville, Iowa. She grew up in Unionville, Iowa and graduated from Moravia High School in 1969. After high school Sharon attended cosmetology school at the Iowa School of Beauty in Ottumwa, Iowa. She later owned and operated her beauty salon ""Shear Pzazz"" in Centerville for several years.
Sharon later worked with the mentally challenged in Albia at Monroe County Professional Management and was the director of Memory Care at the Continental St. Joseph's in Centerville. Prior to her retirement, Sharon worked at New Focus Inc. in Centerville.
In her free time Sharon enjoyed gambling and shopping. She lived for her family, especially her grandchildren. Family events were very important to Sharon. She always wanted to have fun. Sharon loved the ""little things"" in life.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Amy (James) Brown of Centerville, Iowa; her father Garner Cleaver of Unionville, Iowa; two grandchildren, Garrett and Logan Brown of Centerville, Iowa; two sisters, Paula Jones of Centerville, and Jana (Mark) Belloma of Centerville; a brother John (Claire) Cleaver of Centerville; nine nieces, Kelli (Joe) Eickhoff, Kara Jones, Jennifer (Jeremy) Long, Melissa (Mike) Thomsen, Nicole (James) Lange, Emily Jones, Jamie (Randy) McDanolds, Kim Cleaver, and Sarah Belloma; a nephew Jake Belloma; great niece Lauren Long; and four great nephews Jason Eckhoff, Luke Long, Ryan and Jameson McDanolds.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother Helen Cleaver on January 25, 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from noon until 8 PM with the family present from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the funeral service. A memorial has been established and may be left or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544. Condolences may be sent to [email protected].
