Seals L. Hilton's Obituary
Seals L. Hilton, age 86, of Centerville, Iowa, died on Wednesday, June 7, 2011 at the Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. He was born the son of Reuben and Lillie A. (McAdams) Hilton on April 17, 1925 in Cedar Town, Georgia. He received his education in the state of Alabama.He served his country in the United States Army from November of 1944 until his honorable discharge in June 1946. On June 17, 1970, Seals was united in marriage to Patricia Allred in Palmyra, Missouri. He moved to the Centerville area in 1970 and began working for Fuller Manufacturing, and later would become the owner of the American Family Insurance Agency in Centerville for over 10 years. Seals was know all over the country as 'Low Note Hilton' as he was a bass singer for several southern gospel quartets, including: Harmoneeries, Plainsmen, Rhythm Masters and the All American Quartet. He was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Edwin Hilton; brothers, William, Leighton and Cordell Hilton; sisters, Pauline Newman.Seals is survived by: his wife, Patricia Hilton of Centerville, Iowa; a brother, Walbert Hilton of Montgomery, Alabama; sisters, Jamie Ledbetter of Rainbow City, Alabama and Lenora Freeman of Pell City, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Sue Hilton of Fairburn, Georgia; granddaughter, Mychelle and Olivia; grandson, Stuart; greatgrandchildren, Sloane, Kennedy, Norah, Caleb and Max; also several nieces and nephews.Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11 am at the First Baptist Church in Rainbow City, Alabama with Rev.
