My name is Wendy Rivas, and I am a senior at Mercy College of Health Sciences where Scott worked. He was always there with to make sure I was safe when leaving the building and always did his work with a smile on his face. I am truly sorry for this loss. He was a kind, sweet person with a fantastic sense of humor. I know he was well liked by many students at Mercy and he will be missed. My deepest condolenses go out to his family. I was so very sorry to hear of Scott's passing. I work in the Library at Mercy College of Health Sciences and Scott used to stop in for a short chat when I worked the evening shift. I don't think I ever saw him without a smile. When my shift was over, he always made it a point to either walk me to my car or watch me from a window which always made me feel safe. I am a professor at Mercy College of Health Sciences. I will miss Scott stopping in my office in the evening. He always had a smile on his face and would joke with me about needing to quit working so late. I know that Scott was well liked by our students who knew he was there to help them feel safe. I overheard a group of the students talking yesterday about how much they appreciated and will miss Scott. Thank you for sharing him with the Mercy College community. It's been a long time, but from time to time, Marty and I reminisce and remember some very fun times. He has also given ocassional updates on your family. Scott, or Kelso as we called him, was always kind, considerate, and caring. He took time to get to know the students at Mercy, and to keep each of us safe. He used to joke around with us, when we were burnt out from studying into the evenings. He was jovial and always ready to help. The last time I saw him, I was walking to my car in the dark, and he was making his rounds. He stopped to talk to me and make sure I got to my car safely. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. I am an adjunct professor at Mercy College. Scott always had a ready smile and a How are you doing today for you. He had a way of picking you up and making you feel better when you were tired after a long days work. When my classes got out late in the evening he would always be around to make sure that I got to my car okay.
