I had an evening class for the past three semesters and every evening Mr. Kelso would tell me good night and offer to walk me to my car. I had the opportunity to chat with him all of the time and he was a man who always made me feel safe and sent me home smiling, no matter what my day was like. My deepest condolences and prayers are with his family. Posted by Katie Southern - Des Moines, IA December 12, 2011
I am a student at Mercy College and every night I had a late class or was at the library late, Mr. Kelso would make me feel safe leaving the building. I would always see him watching that myself or a group of us got to our cars ok. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Posted by Danielle - IL December 12, 2011
Hello, I am a student at Mercy College. I wanted to say I am so sorry for the loss of Scott. He was such a nice man. He always made me feel safe at school. I had stayed at the college late one night and he walked me out to the car to make sure I was safe. Another time, he walked me out to my car when it was raining. He always opened doors for us students and was always friendly and cheery. Always willing to start up a conversation. I will miss seeing him in the hallways. May God bless and keep you! I am so sorry Susan and Tori, and the rest of the family who I have not gotten to know, for your loss. I know going through this is hard speaking from personal experience. I wish I knew thhe words to say given that I know just how you all feel but I don't..what I can tell you though is that his soul is at peace and he is free of any and all pains, and that I can tell what a great man he was. It's clear to see he was deeply loved and my condolances are with you all. I only met him once or twice, which is a shame, he seemed like he was someone who was fun to be around based on his character when I did meet him. Whats important is to remember the good memories, and remember how much love he had for you all. Tori..you know I am always here for you, always have been and always will be anytime you need me. And Susan, I'm here for you too, and my mom wants you to know if you need to talk shes there for you, shes been through something similar and knows how hard it is. For the rest of the family, my condolances are with you. Posted by Jennifer - West Des Moines, IA - Daughter's (Tori's) friend November 24, 2011
