Ruth Worley, 80 of Centerville passed away Monday, September 29, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Ruth was born to David & Mary Jane (Hougland) Thomas on February 22, 1928 in Cincinnati, Iowa. She was married to Melbourne Worley for 58 years. Ruth was a homemaker and had worked at McGraw-Edison and later as a Supervisor of Sales with Olan Mills Studios. She enjoyed canning, puzzles, playing cards, going to garage sales, cooking, talking on the phone and especially time spent with her family. Ruth is survived by her husband Melbourne Worley of Centerville; three children, Don Crow(Joyce) of Centerville, Kathy Doll of Centerville, Peggy Van Pelt(Peter) of Owasso, OK; six grandchildren, Chris Crow(Amy) of Flower Mound, TX, Jason Crow(Cindy) of Quincy, IL, Krishna Carlyle(Kenny) of Centerville, Justin Doll(Ally) of Centerville, Clark Van Pelt of Owasso, OK, Wade Van Pelt of Owasso, OK; four great grandchildren, C.J. & Dalton Crow of Quincy, Illinois, Kathryn and Kyra Carlyle of Centerville; sister, Reva Ballard of Centerville; brother, Garold Thomas(Dorothy) of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, ten siblings; Oney Thomas, Earl Thomas, Rosa Vestal, Lillian Crouch, Stella Stoner, Otis Thomas, Lora Terry, Henry Thomas, Harold 'Red' Thomas and Ethyel Clark. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Boyd Halford officiating.
