Ruth (Gerry) Hudiburg, 87 of Centerville passed away Monday, September 17, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born to Leon & Jeanette (Holland) Simmons on February 17, 1920 in Liberty, Kansas. Gerry graduated from Liberty High School in 1937. Gerry married Gene Hudiburg on November 17, 1940 in Ft. Scott, Kansas. They lived in Coffeyville, Kansas until 1965 when Gene was transferred to Centerville with Cargill Nutrena. They transfered to Sedalia, Missouri in 1970 where they lived until Gene retired. They then moved back to Centerville in 1994 to spend more time with their grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and spent the majority of her life as a homemaker and volunteer for many organizations. Gerry enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, wildlife and time spent with her family and friends. Gerry is survived by her two children, Debbie Davison (Donald) of Centerville and Mark Hudiburg of Sedalia, MO; three grandchildren: Deanna Moorman (Bill) of Centerville, Destry Davison (Suzie) of Des Moines, Danielle Davison of Centerville and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene; three sisters: Margueritte McWhorter, Mary Allen, Janice Simmons and two brothers Richard and John Simmons. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 19th from 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday September 20th at the Dale Cemetery with Rev. Dianne Christopher officiating.
