Ruth R. Elder's Obituary
Ruth Elder, age 83 of Centerville died Saturday July 4, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville.
Ruth was born May 1, 1926, the daughter of Leonard Ernest and Selma Alma (Lawson) Edwards in Davenport, Iowa. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be missed by all.
Ruth is survived by her children, Lawson Rushton and significant other, Judy Dourscher of Buffalo, Iowa and Pam (Dave) Duffy of Marshalltown, Iowa; grandchildren, Kevin Krieger of Stronghurst, Illinois, Kathy Oglesby of Fort Madison, Iowa, Adam Krieger of Oak Harbor in Washington, Eric Duffy of LeGrand, Iowa, and Ryan Duffy of Marshalltown, Iowa; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Michael Duffy; and sisters, Pearl Hunter, Dolly Thompson, and Darlene Simons.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 PM at the Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Pastor David Welch officiating. Burial will be in the Hanes Cemetery. Friends may call all day Tuesday with the family present from 7-8 PM at the Lange Funeral Home.
