Russell Wayne Horn's Obituary
Russell Wayne Horn, 86 of Moulton passed away, Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Russ was born to Paul & Edith Horn on September 28, 1934 in Monterey, Iowa. He received his education from Moulton High School, graduating in 1952. Russ enlisted in the United States Army Corp and retired as Sergeant First Class after serving 25 years. After retirement, he worked as a supervisor for the maintenance and lunch programs for Ottumwa and Centerville Schools. In his free time, Russ enjoyed woodworking in his shop, he was a former Shriner and a member of the Moulton American Legion Post # 280. Russ enjoyed the company of his pets, especially his cat and his dog, Princess. Survivors include, his daughter, Ivy Rose Bean, two grandchildren, sisters: Wanda Ruiz, Nedra Rupe, Pat Horn, brother, Don Horn (Diane) and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives: Janet Horn on January 22, 1992 and Gloria Horn on May 28, 2018. Graveside service will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 28, 2020 at IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. A visitation without the presence of Russ' family will take place on Saturday, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home in Moulton, following the Governors proclamation of 15 people or less in the building at one time.
