Ruby Houser's Obituary
Ruby Faith Houser, age 91, of Centerville, Iowa formerly of Moulton, passed away on Saturday December 28, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday December 31, 2013 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton with Pastor Steve Houser officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Ararat Cemetery near Centerville. The Schmidt Family Funeral Home has been entrusted in caring for Ruby and her family.Ruby was born on April 9, 1922 in Moravia, Iowa , the daughter of Esthel and Elsie (Mathely) Houser. She was a lifelong resident of Appanoose County.She was a member of the Mount Ararat Baptist Church. Ruby was very active in the Moulton Crosslines, and enjoyed being involved with the activities and social events at the Mercy Medical Center long term care unit,Ruby is survived by her sister June Duley and her husband Dean of Moulton, sister-in-laws Donna Mae Houser of Centerville, and Mary Ellen Houser of Moulton, along with 18 nieces and nephews and 32 great- nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Paul, Billy, Donald, and Bob and one sister Opal Van Doren.The family requests that memorial's in Ruby's name be made to the Mount Ararat Cemetery, and may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
