Rosemary Alice Dusablon's Obituary
Rosemary Alice (Guzzi) Dusablon, age 80, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.
Rosemary was born on March 4, 1940 in Clarkdale, Iowa, the daughter of Tony and Ada (Jones) Guzzi. She graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1958. Following graduation, Rosemary worked at the Appanoose County Clerks Office until 1963. On May 11, 1963, Rosemary was united in marriage to Grant Dusablon at the Saint Francis Catholic Church in Mystic. To this union, four children were born, Melissa, Gregory, Timothy, and Allison. She furthered her education at Northeast Missouri State University, obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education in Learning Disabilities. She also earned her Masters Degree in Education from Drake University.
Rosemary first taught at Moulton High School. She transitioned over to the Centerville School system, teaching at Centerville High School for many years, before retiring in 2004.
In her free time, Rosemary enjoyed reading, painting and playing computer games. She also helped her husband Grant, mow the Mystic cemeteries. She loved music, and took Accordion lessons and played the organ.
Rosemary was a member of the St. Marys Catholic Church in Centerville. She was also a member of the MercyOne Hospital Auxiliary.
Left to cherish Rosemarys memory are her children, Melissa Dusablon, Gregory Dusablon, Timothy Dusablon, and Allison Dusablon; a sister, Loretta Guzzi; a brother, Samuel (Carolyn) Guzzi; three sisters in law, Cherie Schnelle, Sylvia Chanalt, and Cherie Joy (Ron) Tait; three nieces and nephews, Anthony James (Kris) Guzzi, Angela Wilson, and Robin (Scott) Little; six great nieces and nephews; as well as other surviving family members.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Dusablon on December 21, 2012; and her parents, Tony and Ada Guzzi.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Father Timothy Armbruster officiating. Due to the Covid-19 guidelines, we ask that you practice social distancing as much as possible for the visitation and the funeral. Masks are not required but may be worn while attending the services. Burial will be held at Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. Visitation will take place Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 9AM-11AM. Memorials have been established to either St. Marys Catholic Church or to the Centerville High School Foundation and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
